You should be very familiar with:
- Multiple languages, but an expert in at least one object oriented and one procedural language.
- Relational databases, such as Postgres or MySQL.
- Caching mechanisms or NoSQL databases, such as Riak or Memcached.
Ideally, you'll:
- Have worked with large, distributed systems and networks extensively.
- Have experience with a number of different languages, and understand using the right tools for the given job.
- Be comfortable helping lead the direction of our core engineering and architecture.
- Help build strong development paradigms and release processes.
- Have a great understanding of software design principles.
- Not mind working fairly independently, but aren't afraid to ask for assistance.
