Position Summary:
The Solution Architect has the responsibility to understand how each of the individual architect domains work within the specific needs of a product. To lead the product development teams in the execution of the intended design developed by the architecture team.
Role Description:
- Partner with the organization to understand organization and departmental strategy and agree information systems solutions to meet needs.
- Maintain an awareness of business solutions that might support ENGIE Insight’s mission.
- Investigate information systems that might benefit ENGIE Insight.
- Lead in designing, specifying and selecting information system solutions, considering functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure and performance.
- Develop and maintain a model of ENGIE Insight’s current and future Application Architecture.
- Develop and maintain a model of ENGIE Insight’s current and future web architecture and design a structure that is stable, resilient and performant.
- Lead the organization in exploiting technology and use knowledge of IT solutions to drive organizational change and support business process design.
- Understand and support to software architecture design and support development team in developing solutions
- Estimate cost, and prepare business cases for IT solutions, considering infrastructure, licenses, development and support
- Work with the Scrum Masters to develop high level project schedule resource plans for implementation projects.
Role Competencies:
- BS in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts for OLTP and OLAP databases
- Advanced Knowledge of integration tools
- Knowledge of SQL Server
- Broad understanding of integration practices, tools, best practices, standards and practices
- Knowledge of data governance principals, methodologies, integration tools and framework
- Competent in providing detailed estimations of effort for proposed solutions and projects
- Proficient in performance tuning of integration methodologies
- Understanding of general BI strategies and solutions
- Minimum 8 years overall work experience as a developer performing within an enterprise solution.
- Experience working with business users and translating user requirements into developer action.
- Experience working in / understanding of big data technologies preferred
- Experience working with integration of high volume & velocity 2nd or 3rd party data
- Experience working with real time solutions
- Strategic business acumen and understanding of organization strategy and ability to design information systems to delivery that strategy
- Experiencing in assessing a broad range of information solutions and products particularly document management, collaboration and content management.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to lay audiences. Some experience of with working with board level stakeholders.
- Self-starter with the ability to appropriately prioritize and plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment
- Results oriented with ability to produce products that deliver organizational benefit
- Strong critical thinker with problem solving aptitude.
- Team player with experience leading and collaborating cross-team to ensure successful delivery of solutions
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills - demonstrating outside-the-box problem solving skills
- Ability to develop solution architecture designs
- Experience of developing Services Orientated Architectures (SOA)
- Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies such as TOGAF or the equivalent
- A minimum of four years in a professional senior technical role such as technical lead, team lead, architect, or other hands on leadership role ideally for a major consultancy or system integrator
