About the position
Telavox operates multiple data centers throughout the nordics and interconnect with customers, suppliers and partners at even more PoPs. To support Telavox global expansion and increased scale we need to strengthen our core networking abilities.
You will be part of the team at our DevOps department that designs and operates our network and datacenter infrastructure.
What you’ll be busy doing:
- Roll out regular upgrades to production network equipment
- Troubleshoot and diagnose operational issues and environments
- Design, plan and deploy major upgrades and migrations to production network
- Evaluate new technologies, suppliers and strategies
- Interact with suppliers and partners in deliveries of new services and assist in day-to-day maintenance
- Evaluate and implement new PoPs together with stakeholders
- Maintain and improve techniques to monitor and troubleshoot our network
What we think you have:
Experience from a company, where networking in a multi datacenter environment with a large WAN is mission critical and part of core business. You have probably worked at an ISP, hosting provider, telco or some type of cloud provider, where you have participated in modernization or migration projects.
- Extensive hands-on experience in data center and WAN networking
- Solid understanding of dynamic routing using BGP and OSPF
- BGP peering procedures and traffic engineering
- Solid understanding of queueing and CoS
- Experience from working with procurement
- Hands-on experience with Junos
Even better if you also have:
Telavox is on the continuous journey to modernize our data center architecture and network infrastructure and keep up with the rest of our stack through automation and API-based provisioning. You know why and how classic networking vendor CLIs suck and you are eager to implement a more software based approach.
It’s a great advantage if you also have experience or interest in any of this:
- Strong systems programming or sysadmin background
- Container networking
- OpenDaylight, OpenContrail or similar
- OSS-based routing with FRRouting, Quagga, BIRD
- Whitebox switching with ONL, Cumulus, Big Switch, SONiC or similar
- NFV for dataplane on x86 using VPP, DPDK or Snabbswitch
- Leaf-spine switching fabrics
