What You’ll Be Doing
You will be responsible for managing and monitoring statuses of our externally facing production systems. This will include but is not limited to release flow and overall systems health. Working with a technically diverse group of individuals, you will be comfortable communicating technical desires and issues. Our team will also ask you to help us maintain DevOps practices specifically: automation, self-service and the promotion of shared responsibility. Our focus is on solutions and forward progress, think mean time to resolution (MTTR) vs. mean time between failures (MTBF).
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- Degree in computer science or equivalent discipline preferred
- Background with one or both of the following:
- 3+ years development experience
- 3+ years system administration
- Experience with Java, SQL, JavaScript or Python
- Experience with configuration management software such as Ansible or puppet
- Comfortable working with git
- Comfortable working within Linux environments (including shell scripting)
- Experience in the releasing of software
- Understanding of software development life cycles (SDLCs)
- Understanding of distributed systems architecture
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
- Ability to work and organize independently
- Excellent communication (verbal and non-verbal)
