For the Computer Science team of the Information Center for Education (IZB) at DIPF, regarding tasks in the TBA Centre, we are seeking to employ a


Senior Software Engineer


at the earliest opportunity


(full time, permanent, monthly salary based on EG 14 TV-H*)


for the location in Frankfurt am Main.


Your tasks:



  • Planning, co-ordination, acquisition and management of software development projects at the TBA Centre, also in co-operation with national and international partners

  • Technical guidance and co-ordination of software developers

  • Further conceptual development of existing TBA software and respective quality assurance, user concepts

  • Advice to science institutions regarding planning and operations of IT projects at the TBA Centre

  • Advice regarding planning and operations of national and international TBA projects

  • Independent research on TBA-related topics and possible further qualification


* Labour agreement for public service in the state of Hesse


Skills & Requirements



  • An excellent university degree in Computer Science and relevant doctoral degree

  • Leadership experience and co-ordination skills regarding complex, distributed software development

  • Very good software engineering skills and experience

  • An interest in, and knowledge of, Open Source software development

  • knowledge/experience in several of the following areas:

    • Assessment technology

    • Database systems

    • Data Science (e.g. process mining)

    • Semantic Web standards (RDF/S, OWL)

    • Web services

    • Cryptography



  • Demonstrated communication skills, ability to work in a team and social skills

  • Demonstrated management skills

  • Experience in personnel guidance, team leadership

  • Personal commitment and readiness to co-operate

  • Very good English language skills, written and spoken

  • Readiness to become acquainted with TBA specifics

  • Distinctive skills and readiness regarding interdisciplinary collaboration, i.e. disciplines that are relevant to TBA (e.g. educational research, psychometrics)

  • Readiness to travel (national and international)
