This exciting and challenging position requires a self-motivated and independent individual who is committed to assisting our clients in utilizing Cogsdale’ s fully integrated solution for their critical daily business processes.


The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills as well as outstanding programming skills, with experience working in client-server and web environments, strong interpersonal skills, solid judgment, and the ability to work successfully in a support team environment. This position will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to contribute greatly to the product stability, and ongoing success of the Cogsdale solution and integrating Microsoft technology in the utility market.


Primary Functions: 



  • Act as a Level II Triage Developer for the Support team to investigate and analyze product stability issues reported by clients

  • Troubleshoot tickets and program changes in our core CSM product as well as our suite of products

  • Regularly review the database of submitted items and proactively follow up with clients regarding their items.

  • Utilize programming skills to ensure delivered code meets high standards of quality and reusability, as per company policy

  • Communicate with both internal and external clients to ensure delivered code is properly delivered and documented

  • Assist other Support staff, as required, with complex investigations of technical issues

  • Maximize and maintain current knowledge and awareness of applications and related technologies

  • Document processes, routines, and program

  • Educate customers about the causes of software problems to prevent recurrence.

  • Confirm the validity of the problem and search for known solutions to solve the issue.

  • Monitor and follow up on ticket progress based on SLA Requirements.

  • Apply appropriate level of urgency to problems; manage customer expectations in terms of service level and communications.


Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of experience in a software support environment, 3+ in a development role

  • Outstanding analytical and troubleshooting skills with an attention to detail and focus on quality of delivered programming and documentation

  • Experience with team programming and source control best practices

  • Excellent knowledge of SQL Server, Crystal Report and Visual Basic

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Experience with utility billing or local government ERP software applications an asset
