Senior Web Developer (Python/JavaScript)

Description:

Old Mission Capital, a global quantitative proprietary trading firm is currently hiring a Senior Python/Javascript Developer to work in our Chicago office.  The Senior Developer will be responsible for the design, analysis, development, implementation, and deployment of new data driven web based applications as well as providing support for existing applications. The candidate should be able to deliver end-to-end data-driven web-based solutions in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities for this role:

• 
  
• Work closely with users to build highly responsive front-ends using the latest technologies.
• 
  
• Iteratively design and develop functional and responsive web applications by collaborating with other engineers and traders.
• 
  
• Take ownership of the design of the overall architecture of the web application
• 
  

Qualifications:

• 
  
• A degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, computer engineering or Software Engineering is preferred
• 
  
• 5+ years of experience in full stack web development is preferred
• 
  
• Expert knowledge working with the following technologies: Python, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS
• 
  
• Knowledge of enterprise frameworks (e.g. Node.JS, Angular, React, etc.)
• 
  
• Extensive experience working in a Linux environment
• 
  
• Experience with automated testing and building
• 
  
• Ability to identify and suggest various opportunities to improve efficiency and functionality
• 
  
• Superior communication skills and a team player
•
