Why You Matter
We're looking for a Threat API Engineer who will join a team of engineers designing and implementing APIs, caching layers, facets and other mechanisms to expose threat data from a backend big data store. This data will be consumed via the mechanisms you design, extend and implement, to numerous consumers with use cases ranging from expert systems analysis and machine learning through threat research and intel analyst portals of our Predictive Security Cloud ecosystem. This in turn powers all Carbon Black products.
What You'll Do
- Help build large scale RESTful and Streaming API's to support thousands of events per second
- Identify, design and implement facets, caching layers and APIs to provide data at the right granularity and with the right performance for use cases ranging from expert systems analysis and machine learning through threat research and intel analyst portals
- Ensure data quality and availability for ongoing analytics projects through stable ETL processes
- Build out resilient and scalable components for our stream processing machinery
What You'll Bring
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 2-8 years of software development experience
- Strong Python and/or Scala skills
- Experience writing applications for Spark and/or Hadoop
- Experience developing performant APIs to expose access to large and disparate data sources
- Excellent troubleshooting and performance optimization skills
- Experience with AWS Elastic Map Reduce, Kinesis and s3 highly desirable
- Security Experience a plus
