Summary:
As a Senior Java Developer, you will be expected to take a leadership or technical expert role within a team tasked with the development and maintenance of software in accordance with project requirements and customer needs. You will be responsible for the project’s implemented solution, including architecture and documentation. Through proactive recommendations and guidance on tools, technologies, and methodologies, you will act as a force multiplier for the effectiveness of the team, enabling all members to work efficiently as well as to individually help those under your leadership to grow in expertise. You will additionally be expected to effectively communicate within the team and outside parties of a variety of disciplines in order to determine requirements and design for the project, convey accurate project estimates and goals and maintain a positive and productive dialogue within the team and with project stakeholders.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
- Ability to successfully pass a post-offer pre-employment drug test and background screen
- Outstanding problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer or software engineering, information systems or equivalent technical discipline
- At least 8 years professional experience implementing Java solutions
- Expertise with J2EE, Spring Framework, automation techniques, databases and SQL
- Experience with JavaScript, Jquery, Angular.js or other front-end javascript library
- Experience in mobile development a plus
- Proven track record in delivering quality software
- Knowledge of source control systems, tagging and branching techniques
- Fluency in object oriented design
- Ability to debug live application code
- Knowledge of commonly used development IDEs
- Expertise with automated testing methodologies and tools, such as JUnit or Mockito
- Experience with logging and other techniques used to provide a maintainable solution
- Expertise with build, dependency, and deployment tools such as Maven or Gradle
- Expertise with application servers such as Tomcat, JBoss or Websphere
- Ability to analyze business/functional/non-functional requirements
- Fluency in continuous integrations systems like Jenkins, Hudson or TeamCity
- Ability to provide project leadership and mentor junior staff
- Experience in enterprise architecture or mobile development a plus
