Tatari is expanding and we are looking for Senior Backend Engineer to join the team in San Francisco (no remote, no exceptions). In this role you’ll work across our BE stack, blending data science with good-old-fashioned software engineering to build our systems, with a major focus on data collection, automated analysis, APIs, and math. Our big challenge, in a nutshell: combine large quantities of data with novel statistics and analysis, with results in a form we can slice and dice across many axes in real-time.

Description
- Take ownership and responsibility for large backend projects
- Wrangle large (not “big” yet, but we’re on our way) amounts of data using PostgreSQL and other tools
- Architect our services (in Python and other languages), figure out the best way to run them (on AWS and other platforms), and keep them running (preferably without late night PagerDuty alerts!)
- Find ways to keep us better and writing high-quality code. We value correctness over time-to-ship.
Qualifications
- You are smart, fast, and a self-starter. In truth, you should be starting your own company.
- You love data, analytics, and statistics
- Experience in ETL and application analytics such as Mixpanel, AppsFlyer, and Google Analytics
- Strong SQL and schema design skills
- 6+ years experience building scalable systems and backend services
