We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with experience in IT Monitoring, Automation and Configuration Management to join the team in Amsterdam. In this role you will be required to drive constant innovation of automated solutions within the “IT Services Infrastructure” team, develop solutions that provide efficiency in daily operations, standardize configurations across the enterprise, support, maintain and develop the IT Monitoring systems in a large and geographically distributed office environment. You will take part in exciting migration projects and get to make contributions and improvement to the current infrastructure.

- Refine, maintain and improve existing and new monitoring systems;
- Create system health/performance dashboards and SLA reports to provide insight for services and devices;
- Collaborate with different teams around operational monitoring needs;
- Create advanced tools and scripts to satisfy operational automation use cases where needed;
- Build easily maintainable automation solutions;
- Use automation and configuration management tools to manage infrastructure and applications at scale;
- Suggest architecture improvements and creative solutions to provide more reliable and effective support as the company develops and expands;
- Administer Microsoft environments, including Windows application servers, database servers and business infrastructure servers;
- Collaborate in the design and development of business-critical systems to innovate and meet user needs;
- Act as an escalation point of contact for the IT Support team to help resolve more complex issues that arise;
- Create and maintain system documentation;
- Contribute to Booking.com’s growth through interviewing, on-boarding, or other recruitment efforts.
B.skilled
- Strong background in software development within infrastructure using .Net/C#;
- Proven experience with Powershell scripting and automation;
- Hands-on expertise in designing and maintaining large-scale Microsoft environments;
- Strong working knowledge of automation/configuration management tools such as DSC, Puppet, Chef, Ansible;
- Proven experience with building and maintaining monitoring tools, preferably Microsoft SCOM. Experience with authoring tools is a plus;
- Used to working in Agile teams;
- Be capable of working pro-actively and independently in carrying out your day-to-day role, with limited need for supervision;
- Fluent in English language both spoken and written.
