As a crucial function in the broader Fathom team, DevOps manages both the internal and the cloud infrastructure for the application. Fathom’s infrastructure is almost entirely cloud hosted and we primarily use Microsoft’s platform and tools. Our DevOps team also oversees the deployment and management of our applications in production.
We’re looking for a junior DevOps engineer who is adept in the area of IT operations, but is equally at home in Visual Studio. You will be primarily working on our internal systems and cloud infrastructure, while also collaborating with our development team to streamline and automate the delivery and maintenance of our applications.

What you'll be doing:
Your work will vary from week-to-week, but could include:
- Maintaining internal systems and equipment, including hardware and software installations, Active Directory, network support, phones and general IT support
- Identity management and account creation for systems used by Fathom
- Monitoring performance of applications and services
- Maintaining and improving our existing servers and hosting environment - this will include performing configuration changes, patch management and documentation
- Managing security at the operations level (ie. scheduling third party penetration testing, managing SSL certificates and assisting with security audits)
- Improving the efficiency and productivity of our development team through the ongoing development of our systems and processes (e.g. improving continuous deployment and build processes)
What we're looking for:
- Experience with Microsoft Azure
- Experience with ASP.Net / C#
- Experience administering application servers, web servers, and databases (Windows Server 2016, IIS, SQL Server)
- Experience with Active Directory
- Experience with PowerShell DSC, Azure Automation, Azure Resource Manager Templates
- Experience with New Relic, Pingdom, Azure OMS or other tools for monitoring and performance analysis
- Experience with DNS, SSL, Load Balancers, Firewalls, Networking
- Experience with continuous integration tools
- Australian/NZ citizen or a permanent resident (visa sponsorship is not offered for this role)
