Data Scientist at Harbinger Partners (Minneapolis, MN)

Harbinger Partners is currently seeking a Data Scientist for a regular, full time tole.

This will be located in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-- Serve as a critical member of the Business Strategy and Analytics team

-- Own the end-to-end technical design, execution, and deployment of predictive models to accelerate the sales, retention, marketing, and financial performance

-- Build variable and/or dynamic pricing models to optimize performance

-- Develop analytical models to forecast and drive other strategic business initiatives

-- Research and identify new methodologies, techniques, and technologies to enhance the predictive modeling capabilities. Serve as subject matter expert on statistics, regression, machine learning, and other related skill sets

-- Partner closely with internal business stakeholders from sales, marketing, IT, and finance to align on business requirements and expected outputs of predictive models

-- Develop reports, dashboards, and front-end tools enabling internal departments to drive concrete business action based on quantitative model outputs

-- Create advanced data visualizations for the purpose of presenting to internal stakeholders. Verbally present key results of project work in a compelling manner

-- Forge strong relationships with technical peers. Drive technical innovation by leveraging best practices

-- Create and maintain data warehouses and data sources required to build predictive models. Lead the definition and development of new KPIs and metrics for the organization

-- As needed, perform other tasks in support of the other business operations

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

-- Masters or PhD degree preferred (minimum Bachelors degree) in statistics, applied math, operations research, data science, computer science, or similar field

-- Demonstrated expertise in pricing, inventory management, yield management, demand forecasting, or similar function. Preferred 3-5 years prior work experience in related field

-- Advanced proficiency in SQL, R, Python, and/or similar statistical programming languages

-- Prior experience in statistical regression and machine learning techniques

-- Strong business acumen can translate business requirements into technical requirements

-- Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills

-- Innovative thinker with a demonstrated background in research and development

-- Self-starter who needs minimal direction or oversight

Physical Requirements:

-- Must be able to work in a seated position for majority of the work day

-- Ability to lift 30 pounds or less

-- Must be able to be productive in a work environment where the noise level is occasionally high
