Job Description
The Technical Systems Manager plays a critical role as the interface between I.T. and Investment Accounting. This position will be actively involved in the design, implementation, and support of the fixed income asset accounting system, PAM/PFI, to ensure that it properly supports Investment Accounting's core processes and controls.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Investment Accounting to gather business requirements and create technical specifications for implementation of fixed income accounting system.
- Following implementation, designs/recommends and implements changes in the system as needed for investment accounting workflows
- Provides direction and support to vendors/application developers when application changes require knowledge of or changes to system functionality
- Act as liaison between user groups, vendor support, and internal application development teams to facilitate large and small-scale changes and complex problem-solving.
- Create documentation in support of business and technology requests
- Identify areas of risk, while monitoring the current environment, potential improvement areas, and the financial implications of those decisions
- Day to day responsibilities include production support as well as application development projects
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in a computer and/or finance or accounting related fields
- 5+ years of systems analyst experience required
- 3+ years of I.T. business analyst experience, gathering requirements and creating technical specifications
- 2+ years supporting investment accounting systems PAM/PFI and SQL
- Experience in developing and/or supporting accounting, finance or investments systems
- Experience with SDLC and the ability to develop ad-hoc scripts to create reports
- Experience coordinating software release schedules and working with Release Management teams
- Experience writing SQL Statements, SSRS, SSIS
