System Solutions Engineer at Google (Mountain View, CA)

Minimum qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience in software engineering or development in a general purpose programming language.

  • Experience working with two or more of the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, and/or security software development.


Preferred qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

  • Experience with one or more of the following: C++, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

  • Experience with unit testing, agile project development, and bug and change management systems. Passion for engineering excellence.

  • Proficient in multiple programming languages, including C++, Java, JavaScript, and Python.

  • Ability to quickly and independently provide technical solutions to business problems.

  • Ability to be adaptable in exercising judgment in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities


  • Be responsible for developing end-to-end pilots. Drive intake of requirements from partners or internal stakeholders and scope technical dependencies, defining cross-functional development plans.

  • Understand the importance of code quality and unit test coverage.

  • Adhere to Google software development best practices and work in close partnership with other project/product management and engineering teams.
