The Senior Director of Product Management will be responsible for charting and executing the course for Audible's experience on Amazon devices including Alexa, Fire OS and E-Readers. You will lead a team of talented product managers and be responsible for crafting and delivering a strategy for each device platform. You are responsible for delivering a suite of world-class delightful customer experiences that showcase the very best of Audible, while creating the most simple and intuitive customer experiences. You will be responsible cultivating a team that excels in both the art of creating beautiful and industry leading customer experience, as well as the science of applying a data-driven experimentation-oriented mindset that sits at the foundation of all decisions.

You will innately have excellent communication skills, team leadership and high judgment. You will be the go-to-leader for Audible on Amazon Devices, comfortable evangelizing Audible across a number of Audible and Amazon stakeholders, including a wide range of senior business, technical and UX leaders internally, as well as within Amazon.

Along with the Business leaders, you will craft the vision and strategy. You will then be responsible for driving tactical execution, including requirements writing, prioritization, measuring success metrics and communicating out via your team.

A key component of your role will be working closely with Business, Technical leadership and UX innovators to make sure opportunities pursued are technically feasible, strategically consistent and, most importantly, raising the bar on the Audible customer experience. You will be responsible for the customer voice as you work with design, technical and business leaders to set strategy and define products.
The successful candidate will be a tenacious, ambitious, self-starter with a passion for innovative CX and who can serve as a strong advocate for the Audible listener. You will have proven analytical capabilities, strong persuasive writing skills, deep technology understanding, broad business experience and the tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Establish and continuously update the vision and roadmap for Audibles experiences on Amazon owned devices (Alexa, Fire Tablets, Fire TV, Kindle E-Readers, and more).
· Straddle cross platform across Audible on Amazon Devices as well Audibles native Apps and Web properties to deliver on cross functional projects.
· Collaborate with internal and external customers including technology teams and business partners to determine what projects move forward and in what priority order. In order to ensure business and technical stakeholder needs are aligned, the Senior Director will need to drive mindful discussions that lead to crisp decisions.
· Foster innovation and high standards among your team. Support them with positive incentives, develop them to their highest potential, and learn from them to improve your own skillset.
· Write market, functional and system requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to business and development teams.
· Create plans that have clear, measurable success criteria.
· Manage the execution of initiatives from idea through launch, while setting and managing the right expectations with all relevant stakeholders.
· Help the organization reduce exposure to classic failure modes (e.g., requirements not sufficiently understood/documented, ineffective cross-team collaboration, long-term impact(s) from of the use of third-party technologies etc.).
· Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks).
· Define metrics for success and failure and analyze and create dashboards for key metrics.
· Regularly review metrics and proactively seek out new and improved data/mechanisms for visibility, ensuring your program stays aligned with organization objectives.




BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


· BA/BS required in a computer science or an engineering related discipline.
· Experience working with customer facing device apps, as a Product Manager or as a developer.
· 10+ years of experience in product management in large scale software development projects.
· 8+ years of experience managing a team of product managers.




PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


· MBA or Masters degree in a technical field is preferred.
· Exceptional writing skills. Amazon has a strong writing culture: PowerPoint use is rare.
· Metrics-focused: Define metrics for success and failure; ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and make decisions.
· While you wont write code, you should be able to weigh technical trade-offs and have in-depth discussions with engineers on the nuances of complex engineering systems.
· Experience in agile, lean startup product management processes.
· Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position.
