Sr System Administrator Cloud, AWS
Our client, a prestigious Global Investment firm, is seeking to engage a System Administrator (SysAdmin) to help design, configure, and manage the company's compute, storage, remote access and messaging infrastructure as well as the tools used to support that infrastructure. He/she will help continue the organization's move towards a DevOps style of system administration in which scripting and automation are foundational. Will participate in evaluating, selecting, planning, engineering, and implementing technologies related to that infrastructure. Will also be responsible for the ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and support of that infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, select, and implement technologies to standardize and automate the imgencies.
- Evaluate, install, upgrade, configure, and maintain various server environments.
- Serve as technical specialist for cloud infrastructure, platforms, services (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office365).
- Migrate systems and applications to SaaS, PaaS and IaaS cloud providers.
- Analysis and optimization of on premises and cloud workloads.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and applications logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
- Monitor security to identify any possibly incidents or intrusions.
- Installnew software releases, perform systems upgrades, evaluate and install patches.
- Perform daily back-up operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media and that media is properly managed.
- Own end-to-end delivery of certain technology projects including managing scope, quality, and schedule.
- Implement, maintain, and test disaster recovery for corporate computing environment.
- Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment and/or systems.
- Perform after hours changes, as necessary.
Job Specifications:
- Strong knowledge of:
- Windows server configuration and management.
- Enterprise systems management tools (e.g. SCCM, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt).
- Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services, DNS, and DHCP.
- Microsoft Azure, Office365, Exchange Online and Intune Mobile Device Management.
- Amazon Web Services, specifically IAM, EC2, S3, Glacier, EBS, EFS, VPC, Direct
- Connect, Route 53, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Config, Trusted Advisor, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
- one or more scripting languages (e.g. Powershell, Python, JS).
- file system management (e.g. CIFS/SMB, NFS).
- DevOps concepts (automation, agile, continuous integration/continuous deployment, infrastructure as code, cross functional product teams) and tools (Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, Git, Bamboo, Jira).

- VMWare, vSphere, vCenter, and ESX.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent.
- Industry relevant certification such as Microsofts MCSE, VMWare VCP, AWS Certified SysOps
- Administrator or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
