Software Development Engineer - AWS WAF at Amazon (Seattle, WA)

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Perimeter Protection team defends customers of AWS and Amazon.com against DDoS attacks and web application threats. Customers rely on our three public services: AWS WAF, AWS Shield, and AWS Firewall Manager to protect application availability across their organization, so that they can focus on their business. Weve created remarkable technology to monitor and defend one of the largest distributed networks in the world, but it is still only Day 1. At AWS, youll have the opportunity to raise the bar, developing new systems that automatically defend against evolving threats while providing customer-facing, centralized management and visibility. We build everything from low level packet inspection hardware/software to customer-facing AWS services to globally distributed systems capable of mitigating worlds largest attacks.

You will play a lead role on the team and influence how we design, develop, build, deploy and support AWS WAF. To be successful in the role, you must be able to research, innovate and create unique solutions. There is no precedent to follow in this problem space. You will be involved from inception to deployment and beyond. Youll interact with our customers, gathering requirements, designing, implementing, testing and supporting the product operationally; soup to nuts. You will be expected to use your technical background and have a significant impact on the direction of AWS WAF as well as new services that we develop in the future.
