What you'll do
We are seeking someone who can work quickly (mistakes allowed, as long as you learn from them), innovate and iterate. Our team is responsible for taking ideas from senior management, researching them and building solutions based on them from prototype to product, many of which end up serving a critical role in the company. Some of what we need you to help with:
- Work on some very interesting projects
- Building out internal efficiency tools
- Complex data integration with strategic partners
- Creating autonomous services within a large existing ecosystem
- Use cutting-edge technology to solve real business needs
- Research, and build new features and improve existing functionality
- Analyze load and database bottlenecks to optimize speed
- Make strategic infrastructure decisions to prepare projects to continue to scale
- Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, and product managers to refine features
- Review code for quality assurance
What you need to succeed in this role:
- You’re up to date on modern Java standards and have very strong Java experience
- You’re up to date on modern web technologies like REST services, WebAPI, MVC
- You’re familiar with indexing strategies, in particular SOLR
- You take initiative, own your work, and are persistent in following your products into production
- You have experience building highly scalable and reliable systems
- You develop manageable and maintainable software; you build things you’re proud of
- You are smart, challenges excite you and you easily abstract simplicity from complex systems
- You leverage engineering best practices like Continuous Delivery
- Git
- Experience working with implementations across the backend, frontend and middleware.

- Knowledge of REST architecture
- Knowledge of Spring framework
- Knowledge of NoSql concepts
- Knowledge of batch processing and queuing techniques
- COM Interop experience
- Atlassian products
- GitFlow
- Willingness to travel
- Experience defining end-to-end architectures that balance business requirements, scalability and are maintainable
