Drone Systems Engineer
American Robotics is seeking Drone Systems Engineers to help deploy, operate and maintain our fully automated drone solution in real world environments all over the US. In this position, you will work independently on-site with our cutting edge technologies and interface directly with customers, as well as our team of engineers and sales. Location & Logistics
- Office location is flexible: Marlborough, MA or suitable location in the Midwest.
- Training begins March 1, 2019 or as early as possible with the development team
Responsibilities
You will work directly with the companys engineering and sales teams to help deploy and manage autonomous drone systems to customers all over the U.S., including farmers, co-ops, and ag researchers.
- te and become proficient in American Robotics autonomous drone system technology
- Lead flight and system operations at customer sites
- Interface directly with engineering and sales to ensure in-field operations are completed on schedule and meet expectations
- Be the on-site point of contact for customer(s) and keep abreast of customer inputs and requirements
- Work independently on-site with minimal supervision
- Provide input to engineering and sales teams on system operation, performance, and any related issues
Requirements
- g mechanical, electrical, and software aptitude
- Able to work in outdoor environments
- Ability to travel extensively (75%)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; equally comfortable interacting with customers and engineers
- Excellent hands-on experience with assembling, operating and troubleshooting robotics and electro-mechanical systems
- Electronics skills electronics measurement, soldering, debugging, sensitive electronics diagnostics
- Software skills comfortable with linux, python, etc.
- Drone/robotics enthusiast; familiar with building and operating drones and other robots
- Self-starter with strong work ethic and attention to detail
Great Additions:
- edge of farming and/or the use of aerial imagery is a plus (but not required)
- Active FAA Part 107 license, other aeronautical experience or certifications
