Role Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate product manager to join our exciting GE Digital product management team. We are creating a suite of industry transforming products in the cloud space that aim to automate end to end the infrastructure and platform provisioning and support processes. A successful candidate would have excellent combination of understanding UX design principles, end user needs, software development methodologies and strong project management skills.
Essential Responsibilities
This individual will own the product roadmap, product backlog and product priorities of any of the Cloud products and will be responsible for defining, refining and executing on the vision by working closely with product and cross functional teams, businesses, customers, security/compliance, operations, etc., in the planning, development and release of new product versions. Will be responsible for driving the requirements related to functionality, scalability, availability and performance to deliver a quality product within planned schedule.
  • This individual will help drive the building and maintenance of product roadmap, product backlog and product priorities and will collaborate with the Product Management leadership and other stakeholders to define, refine and execute on the vision by working closely with cross functional teams, businesses, customers, security/compliance, operations, etc., in the planning, development and release of new product versions.
  • Responsible for driving the requirements related to functionality, scalability, availability and performance to deliver a quality product within planned schedule.
  • Define product roadmap and capabilities by working with businesses & user groups to understand their requirements, closely following industry trends, market analysis and competitor direction, as well as incorporating operational and security/audit/compliance mandates.
  • Facilitate and work in a highly cross-functional environment to organize product priorities and commitments.
  • Works closely with user groups, and other customer feedback forums to bring in product insights to the team.
  • Maintain the balance between existing client needs vs. those of new prospects and potential customers.
  • Operate with a pragmatic mindset to hold balance between scrappiness and rigor, comfortable with ambiguity as well as clarity.
  • Build and review roadmap in Aha! as well as documents defined requirements, user stories, mock-ups/design on Rally/Jira/other in-house collaboration tools as the source of detailed requirements for development, Q/A and documentation.
  • Provide clarity and detailed definition to technical teams by defining specific feature and user story level requirements along with techno-functional design, detailed functional acceptance criteria and key performance indicators.
  • Be regarded as an expert in Agile Methodology; translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units through problem decomposition and planning.
  • Manages the defect resolution process including project management, requirements gathering and testing and customer communication throughout the release.
  • Collaborates with product engineering team to deliver solutions to meet end user and market needs. Monitors performance of solutions through metrics including customer satisfaction surveys. Identifies enhancements and owns the product backlog.
  • Communicates and coordinates with stakeholders on proposed solutions, roadmap, and timeline for delivery.
  • Delivers internal and external product training on new feature enhancements or modules. Participates in speaking engagements or product demonstrations as needed.
  • Serves as a product expert, providing user support and initial solution consultation, in alignment with industry best practices and use cases and workflows specific to businesses.
  • Stay abreast of competitors and vendors roadmap and current with new training and certifications in the public cloud space.
  • Proactively identified and removes project obstacles and barriers on behalf of the product team.
  • Uses critical thinking skills and disciplined approaches to help leaders and leadership teams resolve issues and define solutions
  • Ensure product availability, timely maintenance and incident resolution, and compliance with security policies
  • Track and analyze engagement, utilization and support metrics.
Basic Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in business, computer science or in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 8 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across disciplines and functions within a product

  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Must be willing to work out of the Buckhead or Cincinnati location.
Desired Characteristics
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and influencing across global, complex matrix organizations.
  • Background in IT technologies and customer solutions.
  • Excellent communications skills. Prior consulting background a plus.
  • Domain expertise in Public and Private Cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of the product lifecycle.
  • Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or Google, including administration and development activities.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Microsoft operating systems. Command line and shells scripting experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience developing key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Prior experience managing collaborative, cross functional technical teams and vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated change leadership skills (i.e., ability to effectively manage communication, negotiate successful outcomes, identify risks, engage correct stakeholders, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • ITIL foundations, Service Strategy, Service Design, Continual Service Improvement, PMP certification or related experience a plus.
  • Experience in defining and launching services or products and managing product budgets
  • Process knowledge and process methodology background
  • Ability to effectively work despite uncertainties, and with a lot of unknowns to keep product work progressing.
  • Able to verbalize what is behind decisions and downstream implications
