Veritude is seeking a Network Engineer at Fidelity Investments in Westlake, TX.

Global Network Services is dedicated to the overall global network engineering and support for Fidelity Investments within Enterprise Infrastructure. The Advanced Network Services team within Global Network Services is primarily responsible for Level 2 Operations for our customers including: Security Protection, DNS, Application Traffic Management, Managed File Transfer, Remote Access, Proxy Firewalls etc

The perimeter security engineer within Global Network Services Advanced Network Support will be responsible for support and maintenance of Fidelity Investments Internetwork services, Load Balancing and Security for the company. This will include supporting the Internet/Extranet platforms that provide network security, load balaning and managed file transfer. Typical duties will include troubleshooting a highly complex Internet/Extranet environment traversing multiple platforms, performing routine maintenance on multiple platforms, supporting Network engineering groups on projects such as certifying new implementations, code upgrades as well as securing the environment through tactical change management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and Maintain highly complex firewall and network environments

• Support Internet/Extranet Engineering through use of Firewalls, IDS/IPS, various proxy gateway and other network security devices to provide defense-in-depth protection from cyber security threats

• Network Change Implementation

• Implement code upgrade/hot fix from vendor

• Change verification/validation with customer

• Assist in troubleshooting issues related to change

• Troubleshoot all issues related to Internet/extranet environment

• Documentation of complex technologies and topologies

• Vendor management for multiple platforms

• Support the environment in a Oncall rotation

Education and Experience

• 3+ years within the network security space

• 5+ years within the network support environment

Skills and Knowledge

• Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, including application knowledge

• Strong Development/Automation/Scripting knowledge

• Strong Global/Local load balancing knowledge in F5 environment

• Extensive Unix/Linux skills

• Scripting capabilities using Python, Chef, Puppet or equivalent language

• Network Security skills: Firewall, IPS/IDS, Webfiltering, etc.

• Network Engineering and Troubleshooting skills

• Routed/Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, VPNs

• Application Traffic Analysis

• Understanding Status codes: http 100, 400 etc

• Managed File Transfer, FTP, SFTP, etc

• Packet capture and analysis

• Skilled verbally and with presenting to senior team members on strategic idea     innovations

• Ability to work in a team environment
