Client needs someone strong with VMware, O365, file sharing and has worked with at least 1,000 users with multi-site application experience.


Position Summary

The System Administrator is responsible for ensuring the optimum access, performance, capacity and availability of technologies deployed supporting our heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Linux/Unix server environment. The individual in this position must be able to effectively troubleshoot a wide variety of application, software, database-connectivity, and some network-related issues. The System Administrator should also have sufficient knowledge of virtual platforms and Windows-based applications. This position would be part of a team comprised of IT systems engineers and network engineers responsible to ensure that the systems are functioning nominally.

This position delivers services (hardware and software) to Corporate, Plants, Warehouse and Direct Sales and Distribution facilities in coordination with the local teams and in conjunction with the Plant manager and Service Desk manager. The System Administrator will report directly to the Computer Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Assists in maintaining the team's suite of applications, troubleshooting issues, providing and implementing technical and business solutions.
  • Administration, setup and maintenance of Windows based servers and load balancers.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems processes and review of system and application logs.
  • Provide day to day support and troubleshooting for production and test hardware, OS, software, and operations issues.
  • Planning and execution of backups.
  • Systems monitoring and capacity planning.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • 3 years experience in Information Technology, including the administration of virtual and windows environments.
  • Experience with infrastructure and server theories, principles and concepts; application infrastructure and standards, to include networking fundamentals, Windows, Physical Server architecture, Virtualization Technologies (VMware) and LAN/WAN/Firewall/VPN network technologies.
  • 2 years experience server virtualization technologies (preferably VMware).

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience working with Exchange 2013 Hybrid servers.
  • Experience with Microsoft active directory (AD) in multi - domain enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge on LDAP integration.
  • Knowledge on Microsoft SQL server.
  • Experience with VMWare and Windows in a virtualized environment.
  • Experience with virtualized IT Infrastructure.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, ADFS.
  • Experience with SCCM a plus.
