The Security Operations Administrator is a junior member of the Security Engineering team at Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). The primary responsibility of this role is to support the security framework that is integrated into the PlayStation platform. This support is fulfilled by minimizing impact to the platform while ensuring the security needs are met. This role is highly technical and requires a solid understanding of security principles and how they are applied to an enterprise environment.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Security Operations Administrator include but are not limited to:

• Operational support of security devices and applications that service customers

• Triage incoming break fix tickets

• Support the care and feeding of security technologies

• Develop and maintain documentation for processes and procedures for security operations

• Understand specific company security policies as well as common industry security standards (CIS) and regulations (PCI), and how they are enforced through technical tool sets

• Keep up-to-date on the current IT threat landscape and upcoming trends in information security

• Other operations duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate degree, or equivalent industry experience (3+ years)

• Security engineering experience preferred but general IT experience will be considered

• 2+ year Linux administration experience required

• Advanced Linux/Unix and Windows OS administration knowledge preferred

• Knowledge of firewall and IDS/IPS policy administration

• Knowledge of cloud environments and how to secure them

• Knowledge of web services, APIs, and related protocols (HTTP, TLS/SSL) and how to troubleshoot them

• Basic network routing knowledge required

• Good independent problem solving experience

• Application and network troubleshooting experience required

• Ability to manage parallel tasks and accurately document resolutions

 

Desired Experience

• Experience with Public Cloud technologies (AWS)

• Experience with secrets management products

• Experience with application based firewalls

• Experience with host based security tools that focus on file integrity and configuration checking

• Direct experience with security infrastructure administration

• Basic understanding of Scripting/Automation (e.g., PERL, Python, Go, SHELL scripting)
