The Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for testing business applications and back-end functionality by performing system tests These test can include regression tests, and smoke tests. The senior QA analyst helps define best practices and procedures for all quality assurance testing and is responsible for leading and mentoring other testers. Must understand the role automation plays in software testing and is able to apply it effectively.
Essential Functions:
- Analyzes project requirements and develops test plans, test cases, test scripts, and other testing documentation.
- Executes test cases.
- Helps develop test Level of Effort (LOE) and schedule.
- Identifies functionality that can most benefit from test automation and helps implement its automation.
- Determines correct level of regression testing based on planned changes.
- Assesses, analyzes, and helps mitigate application and data related issues.
- Works with project team to maximize quality of deliveries before they are submitted to Quality Control (QC).
- Contributes towards initiatives that improve the consistency and quality of our products.
- Ensures testing processes to minimize production errors.
- Mentors junior testing staff.
Required Skills
- Experience in creating and executing complex test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
- Ability to write clear and concise defect reports.
- Knowledge of relational databases and methods for efficiently retrieving data from them.
- Ability to collaborate well with other team members in aggressive work environment.
- Ability to autonomously multitask across projects.
- Adaptable to the rapidly changing requirements of a growing organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with performance testing.
- Experience with test management tools like HP Quality Center or Microsoft Test Manager.
- Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS).
- Experience with Microsoft SQL.
- 5 years: Experience in software quality assurance testing.
