Job Summary:
Our team builds and implements new navigation features related to turn-by-turn guidance for driving, walking and public transit routes. Simply speaking, We are responsible for ensuring that all Maps users have a very accurate and positive navigation experience.
We are seeking a proven manager who can understanding how to translate user behavior and routing data into creative and meaningful real-world solutions, and empower our team to build these solutions which will positively impact our navigation features. You will provide strong technical leadership and mentorship throughout our product delivery lifecycle. As a member of our team, you will use real-world metrics and your own empathy to build highly adaptive and time-dependent routing solutions. This is a highly visible and multi-functional role in which you will work with many partners and teams to deliver our features and solutions from concept to production. We develop using high-performance, server-based code using C++ in Linux environments.

Key Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience with at least 5 years developing production-level code and 5 years managing direct reports and teams.

- Strong knowledge of C++ and Software Development Principals

- Making sure our users find it easy to stay on their route by giving them the right instruction at the right time.

- Analyzing diverse sets of data points in new ways, including road geometry, lane data, signage, and point of interest.

- Designing and crafting human-friendly instructions based on our unrivaled data analysis which work on Apples many devices.

Education:
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field will be considered.

Additional Requirements:
Having the following skills would be a plus, but are not necessary.:

- Data Science or Machine Learning background

- Maps, Routing, Geospatial Graph Algorithms, or GIS experience

- Experience and knowledge of device management
