Levels Beyond is currently seeking a Workflow-Applications Engineer to join its operations team for an immediate opening. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in emerging technologies, experience in a client facing role, and will enjoy multitasking, taking on new challenges, and working as part of a team.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Excellent communication and comprehension skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a wide audience with varying degrees of technical acumen. Must be able to translate complex technical ideas and issues into language that a customer can understand and against which they can take action
- Ability to work as a member of the client services team, designing and implementing workflows to improve business challenges in the media industry
- Be a responsible engineer and team member:

- Must be able to manage multiple projects by utilizing strong planning and organizational skills

- Systems implementation skills including requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Manage multiple customer issues, follow ups, and investigations simultaneously
- Manage day-to-day tasks and activities effectively and efficiently
- Be able to clearly communicate complex technical designs and solutions in verbal and written forms in clear, concise and easily readable format to both technical and non-technical personnel
- Be able to travel as necessary (< 10% of time), providing on-site consulting work to clients
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to deliver solid results within a software engineering environment
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills (i.e. debugging, testing)
- Ability to learn new skills (technical, operational, interpersonal) throughout previous, current and new roles
- Working knowledge of server-based computing platforms (i.e. hardware, operating system, software virtualization technology / strategies, etc.), networking devices (i.e. switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, etc.) and the design and delivery processes, methodologies and their direct implementation to solid, robust solutions
- Development experience in either a coding language (Java preferred) or scripting languages (i.e. bash or Python)
- Experience parsing and building XML and JSON data formats
- Experience navigating Linux via command line
- Experience with technical integration, scripting, and coding
- Energetic and positive attitude, highly motivated and a self-starter
Desired Skills and Abilities
- Experience in Media and Entertainment, Publishing or Digital Media verticals
- Understanding of enterprise hardware and software and their benefits in digital media workflows
- Experience with technical integration, scripting, and coding
- Development experience within a Linux/Unix environment
- Previous consulting, coding, technical support, solution architect, or project management experience
- Experience working in a startup or start-up like environment
- Experience working on a team with Agile methodologies
- Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, Mongo, Elastic Search), cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), storage/archive solutions, and multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, Mac)
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, engineering or equivalent, or Bachelors degree in another discipline with code development curriculum and/or work experience.
