Harris Corporation is seeking an Integration & Test Engineer for our Surveillance & Automation Solutions business area. This position will be supporting our air traffic management programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the development and analysis of system and subsystem requirements
- Integrate hardware and software components of these systems.
- Develop comprehensive plans and procedures to verify and validate (V&V) performance of the systems with respect to the underlying requirements.
- Conduct test and verification activities. Test activities will take place primarily at Harris' Herndon facility, but may also be performed at customer location.
- Document test results and write test reports. Present these results to management and the customer.
- Work closely with customers to ensure that test procedures cover all functions of the product
- Some travel, domestic and foreign, may be required. (10%)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- Four (4) or more years hands-on experience in communications and information systems integration and testing
- Broad systems engineering experience with emphasis in systems integration (hardware and software) and testing
- Hands-on experience with data networks including knowledge of network protocols, and use of data collection and analysis tools
- Experience in troubleshooting system issues, identifying the root cause, and clearly documenting the results of this analysis
- Working knowledge of operating systems including MS Windows, Solaris, and Linux
- Proficiency using advanced capabilities of MS Office and Visio®
- Hands-on experience using network and data analysis tools such as Wireshark.
- Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to meet the suitability requirements for a Public Trust Position
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS
- Hands-on experience performing data analysis and visualization tools using scripting languages.
- Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix based applications.
- The successful candidate will possess strong initiative, curiosity, and desire to learn.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment
- Prior experience with FAA testing activities is a plus
This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a FAA security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
