POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr Software Developer has proven their ability to architect, design, develop and implement highly scalable and reliable IT systems. This person provides the technical leadership in implementing short and long term technical strategies for the MediCUBE development team, will transform the strategies into prioritized initiatives, and is able to respond to urgent issues in their specific function without losing focus on longer term deliverables. As a technical leader, this person is able to balance a wide-range of initiatives. This position manages the MediCUBE application. MediCUBE is changing the way Express Scripts' clients are leveraging real-time data for better decision making. MediCUBE® is Express Scripts' advanced diagnostic and data mining platform that integrates medical and pharmacy claims data to better understand prescriber, pharmacy and patient trends.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Address client and leadership requests related to functionality additions, data related questions and provide recommendations to improve MediCUBE application functionality.
- The lead architect/developer of the MediCUBE application performs the front end application development in ASP dot NET using C# (C Sharp), JavaScript and jQuery and the back end code development in VBS (VBScript) and SQL server store procedures.
- Execute application architecture through working with delivery teams to enable the efficient and optimal use of ESI’s technology assets, ensuring adherence to ESI’s IT Strategy, Guidelines and Architecture Transformation.
- Provide in-depth technical consultation to team developers, client, business partners and IT management/development to ensure development of efficient application utilizing established standards, procedures and methodologies
- It is desirable for the candidate to understand the clinical application of a large data set of prescription and medical data and how analysis can identify fraud, waste and abuse
- Perform technical assessments of platform changes and enhancements.
- Engage in production support research and resolution recommendations, as required
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines

- Solid communication skills (written & oral) with the ability to prepare clear and concise presentations, technical design / architecture specifications, status and other written artifacts.
- Ability to organize and coordinate projects within the develop team of 5 to 8 developers.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with and clarify vague and ambiguous initiatives.
- Familiarity with producing conceptual prototypes to visualize & demonstrate key concepts/capabilities to stakeholders.
- Establish technical strategy, architecture, and roadmaps for the MediCUBE product
- Proficient in .NET framework.
- Perform optimization of website content and code.
- Very strong web application front end user interface (UI) and server side code development skills
- Experience building and knowledge of service oriented architectures (SOA) and web services
- Ability to work independently, particularly as a member of a virtual or geographically dispersed team
- Capacity to thrive within a high-energy fast-paced environment
- Sets aggressive and measurable goals/objectives, and drive the development team to deliver on those objectives
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or 11 years of experience.
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
- 10+ years of .Net with C# experience with ASP.Net Web Forms
- 5+ years expert level knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, HTML/HTML5 and CSS
- 5+ years of strong SQL query skills, SQL performance tuning & optimization, SQL Server stored procedures
- Experience with health care or PBM industry related data sets and applications
- Jira, Git, VBScript, Java, Selenium, Jenkins
- SSAS/SSRS, PowerBI, Tableau
- Agile development environment
- Teradata and NoSQL databases
- Web security, cross-site scripting, and SQL injection prevention
- Understand new technologies and trends
- Able to communicate and drive technology architectures, design patterns, architecture frameworks and software development/testing methodologies to developers, DBAs and testers.
