Android OS Software Engineer
We seek an experienced Android OS engineer to join our award-winning team! The product development organization is going to grow substantially over the coming months; we need a software engineering leader to help take on some very exciting initiatives.
Successful candidates will have deep experience working within Android OS. We need an engineer who is familiar with Android OS across network connectivity management, memory management, security features, and display subsystems as he/she partners with our agile software teams. Ideal candidates will have kernel development experience as well; however, this is not a primary focus of this position. Additionally, we would like candidates who have experience evaluating future SoC’s via performance benchmarking and kernel-to-driver software integrations, partnering with our external hardware manufacturing and production partners.
Required qualifications/experience
- Minimum Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience in software development
- At least 3 years of systems engineering experience with C/C++ and/or Java
- Experience customizing Android OS
- Advanced debugging experience leveraging ADB, memory profiling tools, etc
- Demonstrated excellence in delivering well-designed, high-quality code on schedule
- Strong knowledge of software engineering principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired qualifications/experience - One or more
- Experience with object oriented application-level development
- Kernel-level programming experience in the areas of networking, security, memory, power management, and/or display devices
- SoC performance benchmarking and evaluation
- Multi-threaded programming
- Experience with Quilt or Patchwork
- Demonstrated experience backporting drivers
