Athena Core - Resiliency Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer at JP Morgan Chase (Jersey City, NJ)

As a member of our Infrastructure Development team, you will dive right into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. Youll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to develop and deploy large scale infrastructure solutions that supports JPMCs diverse and critical businesses.  You will be using the latest technologies, data management and security practices in all aspect of software development. Critical thinking, clear communication and collaboration are key to success product delivery.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and remediating (through software development or otherwise) weaknesses that could be exploited by unintentional DDoS or exploitation of code vulnerabilities in a complex technology environment. This will be conducted through a combination of pro-active war gaming and forensic analysis, finding weaknesses and single-points-of-failure in the shared Athena infrastructure.

The successful candidate should have experience of designing and/or supporting highly resilient, mission-critical systems, and should possess experience with at least some of the following skills:

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
• 
  
• Software development experience, ideally in Python and/or C++ (required)
• 
  
• Working knowledge of database administration concepts
• 
  
• Logical and structured mindset with a passion for problem solving
• 
  
• Comfortable collaborating across multiple teams to solve complex technical problems
• 
  
• Database knowledge: One of MySQL, Postgres, Vertica preferred
• 
   
  
• Operating systems: UNIX, with RHEL preferred
• 
  
• Containers: Docker and Kubernetes (not essential but preferred)
• 
  
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with clear communication
