Job Summary:
Comcast is searching for expert software developers to join the Smart Network Platform Team (SNP), where we are building the platform responsible for automating the management of Comcast's network. This platform will simplify operational activities, reduce outages, minimize restoration time, and serve as a foundation for many business functions and initiatives. The platform is built in Agile fashion utilizing continuous integration/deployment and runs primarily on cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
Develop new and evolve existing applications and components
Analyze and address system limitations (components, data models, interactions)
Participate in the analysis and selection of new technology, concepts, and methodologies
Prepare technical documentation (e.g., design specifications, theory of operation, API contracts, usage and support documentation)
Participate in the Agile process (e.g., Sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives; assist with user story creation and refinement)
Perform code reviews and mentor others through collaborative development (e.g., whiteboard sessions, pair programming)
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Qualifications/Skills:
Expertise with
oJava 8 and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Integration)
oProducing and consuming RESTful services
oTest-driven development (preferably with JUnit and Cucumber)
oBuild tools (preferably Gradle)
Strong Proficiency with
oConstructing interpreters using language tools (preferably ANTLR4)
oFundamentals of Linux system administration, application monitoring, and performance tuning
oTest-driven development
oDistributed Concurrency Problems
Exposure to
oRelational and NoSQL Databases
oAgile-based Software Development Life Cycle

Preferred Qualifications:
oDistributed Event-driven Systems (Message Queues and Topics)
oDistributed Concurrency Problems
oRelational and NoSQL Databases
oAgile-based Software Development Life Cycle
oAny functional language, or the functional approaches in Java
oConfiguring Routers or Switches (not a responsibility, just provides context for the problem SNP is solving)

oWeb Development (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, frameworks like React or Angular, build tools like Babel or Webpack)
