At Geophy we consider data being in motion at all times: new data comes in, data gets updated or corrected and and new datapoint might affect hundreds of other one. To accommodate for this we are building our in-house data management platform, capable of ingesting, integrating and enriching data on millions of buildings a day. We handle data ingestion, management, and inference, as well as deliver that data to the rest of the business. Our architecture is built around Kafka, graph databases, Microservices and running on Kubernetes; we develop mostly with Scala and Java. This is an opportunity to work on a one of a kind platform sitting at the very heart of our business.
What you'll be responsible for
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve streaming data components for GeoPhy's data platform
- Help us design and build a data management platform capable of handling many millions of messages on a daily basis
- You will work closely with our engineers on developing scalable services consuming and producing messages
- You will participate in designing and developing adjacent services for schema validation
- Manage your own as well as the team's priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
What we're looking for
- Production experience with messaging and stream processing architectures built on Kafka
- Strong knowledge of reactive architecture and microservices
- Development experience in Java or Scala across the entire software life cycle
- Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English
- Willingness to work with Agile methodologies
- Passion for writing high quality, rock-solid software, including test automation (unit/integration)
- BS/MSc degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
