The Web Developer is responsible for maintaining and building on to the web applications for R3 Continuum. The primary area of responsibility will be eCase Manager, a proprietary website to manage workflow and case volume. This developer will be working with users, management, and external vendors for the proper understanding of the needs and anticipated outcomes. The program is complex (several hundred web pages) and will require an individual who is able to balance user and business needs. Other proprietary programs may be introduced such as PDF Organizer and Time for Me to Fly. It is also possible that there will be a request for additional web applications to be designed as the needs of the company change.
Web Developer Essential Functions
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of web applications designed in house
- Work with external partners to gain the best possible outcome
- Understand and anticipate the needs of the users with regards to the web applications
- Recommends strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends, anticipating requirements as part of the IT team
- Maintains quality service by enforcing organization standards as indicated in IT policies and procedures
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, participating in professional societies
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
Skills & Knowledge
- Comfort with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (JQuery a plus), Git, Bitbucket, and Linux (Ubuntu preferred)
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL with MS Sql Server preferred
- Strong aptitude for technology
- Good communication with other developers and with end users
- Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines when faced with multiple interruptions and sometimes stressful situations
- Can confidently establish priorities based on workload, focusing on attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to analyze and problem-solve issues in order to identify areas of process improvement and increase efficiencies
- Able to work independently and handle and resolve problems on own, but also know when to collaborate with staff and be a team player
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to develop and foster relationships with employees and clients at all levels of the organization
Education & Licensing
- Recommended Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Network Security or a related field of study.
- Recommended: Ruby Association Certified Ruby Programmer
Experience
- Recommended 2+ years of strong programming experience
- Recommended 2+ years of web development experience using Ruby on Rails
