Job description



You will be a pivotal member of our development team and have the opportunity to lay the technical foundations of a new greenfield cloud native data analytics product we are building. You will be working as part of a cross functional agile team of technologists and data scientists a product owner and technical architect.



About you:


You are a passionate software engineer who knows the ins and outs of software engineering and how it fits the broader SDLC. Modelling the world, thinking in terms of design patterns, object oriented design, functional programming, test driven development are your second nature. You have written several applications from scratch, many are still in production to the delight of their users. You enjoy working in a team of like minded professionals and keen to provide feedback on other's code as well as act on feedback received on yours. You are used to work in agile teams delivering small, incremental improvements through continuous delivery pipelines. You are proud of the quality, security and robustness of the code you write, and because you write your code with an in depth understanding of the execution environment these qualities translate to the systems you implement as well.





We look for a profile with complementary skills, such as:



  • 5+ years of commercial software development experience with an open source Java stack

  • Expert Knowledge of the Spring framework and ecosystem

  • REST, API design

  • No-SQL Databases such as Mongo DB and Search indexes such as Elasticsearch

  • Strong understanding of Linux

  • Comprehensive automated testing experience with continuous integration and Continuous delivery pipelines

  • Considered as a plus, you had experience with:

    • AWS or similar cloud platforms such as Azure and Google Cloud

    • Running micro-services at scale

    • Wrapping your microservices with GraphQL

    • OS Containerization with Docker or rkt

    • Lambda architecture and implementing it with Apache Kafka, Storm and Spark

    • Flow based processing using Apache Ni-Fi

    • Used to work in agile Scrum teams, ideally experienced with SAFe





On top, your English communication skills are great, you are a team-player and tech-obsessed, always on the hunt for the latest and hottest shots!
