Job Description
The SQL Server DBA is responsible for implementation, configuration, maintenance and performance of our SQL Server database systems. The position is expected to perform all functions related to the database systems for our 24/7/365 production environment, as well as, UAT, QA, and development environments. A successful candidate must be able to work in a high-paced environment and periods of high-stress.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or qualified experience, in a field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related Information Technology discipline
Technical Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server versions 2008 or later
- Knowledge of high availability technologies and disaster recovery, including AlwaysOn, replication, clustering, log shipping and database partitioning
- Experience with capacity planning, maintenance, and optimization of the database environments
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Experience in creating advanced SQL database queries, functions, and stored procedures
- Knowledge of SQL Server data structures and data types
- Basis understanding of data modeling concepts
- Microsoft .NET framework knowledge, SSIS, and Reporting Services a plus.
