Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is the technology infrastructure organization for the Firm, delivering a wide range of products and services, and partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner. End User Services (EUS) within GTI is responsible for delivering all end user platforms allowing our users to access their desktop, applications and files from any location on any device.
 
As a Technology Architect within the group you will:

  • Work with End User Services application development teams, architects and engineers within the group to understand the functional and non-functional requirements of a given project/application or infrastructure to develop a forward-looking technology strategy that aligns to our overall target state architecture

  • Ensure that our solution architectures align to the Global Technology Infrastructure Strategy and Multi-year plan

  • Collaborate closely with teams participating in strategic planning, facilitating cross-team solution reviews and communicating strategy direction

  • Share accountability with teams for delivering our target state architecture 

  • Partner with internal Global Technology Infrastructure experts from the Service Towers in review of any edge case design or new product requirements

  • Maintain an effective technical network across Global Technology Infrastructure, knowing the Go-To  Subject Matter Experts (SME's) and architects in multiple service areas

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with senior Architects with Business Application Development teams to understand functional requirements of a given project/application

  • Accountability to develop a key technical solution to meet those requirements and firm wide cost, resiliency and control requirements, leveraging standard building blocks as much as possible

  • Partnering with internal Global Technology Infrastructure experts from the Service Towers in review of any edge case design or net new product requirement (we do not work standalone)

  • Understanding fundamental Global Technology Infrastructure standard solution gaps, which are legitimate and which have biggest Return on Investment (ROI) to fix

  • Arranging and monitoring a solution to completion and ensuring project setup across Global Technology Infrastructure for success

  • Scoping, Resourcing, Project Management is appropriate for effort

  • Maintaining an effective technical network across Global Technology Infrastructure, knowing the Go-To Subject Matter Experts (SME's) in multiple service areas

  • Developing an effective network of senior Architects within 1 or more major Business Areas

This
position is anticipated to require the use of one or more High Security Access
(HSA) systems.  Users of these systems are subject to enhanced screening
which includes both criminal and credit background checks, and/or other
enhanced screening at the time of accepting the position and on an annual basis
thereafter.  The enhanced screening will need to be successfully
completed prior to commencing employment or assignment.





  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years as Technical Architect and/or solutions engineering and design experience

  • Very strong I.T. architecture problem-solving skills

  • Overall I.T. experience in a Client-Server environment, with practical knowledge of  distributed, and desktop technologies

  • Infrastructure architecture & engineering experience, including functional and technical requirements gathering, and solution development

  • Advanced written and oral communication capabilities, ability to influence and successfully interface with executive leadership

  • Strong system analysis and service development experience

  • RFP and technology selection experience

  • Logical and Physical design experience

  • Architecture governance experience

  • DevOps implementation experience

  • Data Architecture experience

  • Practical experience operating in an Agile development environment


  • Expert level technical knowledge and practical enterprise scale experience in at least two of the following areas:

  • Virtual desktop infrastructure

  • Real time communications utilizing VOIP, SIP, and WebRTC

  • Collaboration technologies such as SharePoint, Slack, and Microsoft Exchange

  • Audio and video conferencing

  • Cloud Automation Infrastructure Blue Prints JSON for HashiCorp Terraform and or CloudSoft AMP

  • Core Java , JDBC , UI design, Oracle , Hibernate , ANSI SQL With Mobile Dev

  • SPLUNK SPL, Microsoft Azure, PowerShell

  • JSON for management and configuration of Kafka streaming platform

  • Telemetry, data warehousing, and analysis platforms such as SPLUNK

  • Migrations to public cloud services

  • Bots, Artificial Intelligence, and Natural Language Processing technologies a plus
