Are you a Site Reliability Engineer, looking to to support internal and external engineering and operation teams to push our customer’s technology forward?
Forum One is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Operations Team.
The SRE works closely with the technical leads in defining and crafting infrastructure solutions for projects in the build-out phases. The SRE designs and builds solutions for automation that move data from internal solutions to cloud-based solutions. He or she possesses a strong ability to review development, deployment and operational environments, and consequently executes initiatives to reduce failure and troubleshoot issues across the entire development toolchain and infrastructure stack.
Responsibilities:
- Build out Container infrastructure to include additional services, increased redundancy/scalability, and harnessing new container features.
- Tune MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
- Tighten security across our infrastructure.
- Implement autoscaling techniques that balance performance, workload demands and costs.
- Improve our CI/CD process, making builds/deployments faster and safer.
- Further develop our Datadog monitoring infrastructure.
- Enhance our AWS services usage and configurations.
Qualifications
- Have experience that demonstrates building scalable systems and troubleshooting various back-end challenges within a short timeframe.
- Have significant experience with *nix, Python, bash, and SaltStack or similar backend systems and frameworks.
- Have experience working in a PHP-based web app infrastructure (Drupal and WordPress).
- Experience working with databases running on MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Have experience configuring monitoring, logging, and other tools to provide visibility and actionable alerts.
- Enjoy automating processes using Python, bash, SaltStack, or other scripting languages.
- Have experience with Docker containers and micro services.
- Understand the full web stack, networking, and low level Unix computing.
- Always be thinking of ways to improve reliability, performance, and scalability of the infrastructure.
Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or Related Field
- 3+years of experience with Linux system administration (RHEL or CentOS preferred).
- Strong scripting ability with Bash, Python, Ruby, or Perl.
- Experience with monitoring systems using tools like Nagios and writing health checks.
- Member of 24/7 on-call rotation team.
- Strong networking experience.
