What we do
PEAT is a dynamic Start Up with the passion of bringing meaningful change and security to food production worldwide. We empower family farmers and growers to fight crop shortfalls and unnecessary pesticide use, with the help of our smart and free App Plantix. Plantix comes equipped with Machine Learning/Computer Vision algorithms that detect 300 plant diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies and help farmers to get the help they need. Our users can be found worldwide, with a high concentration in India and Latin America. We are excited to deepen those roots as we continue to scale globally.
Who we are
PEAT is currently a team of over 30 people, from different nationalities, who are proud to define and maintain the global standard in image recognition for plant protection. Who we're looking for
To support our team in the centre of Berlin we are currently looking for a skilled and motivated backend developer (all genders) in full-time. We are searching for bright minds who love to engage with others thriving for beautiful solutions.
What are your tasks
We have made up a zoo - our databases for images, content, community have animal names.
Now we need a zoo director.
You take care of all animals, cure them when they are ill and together with the IT team you think about having new animals, when needed. In other words, your task will be to work on the backend of our webapps and REST APIs.
Who we're looking for
- You simply love clean code and perfect sprints.
- Your mother tongue is Python, you are at home with Flask, MongoDB and Postgres
- You are skilled in leading and motivating small teams, you structure their workflows in an agile way
- You are experienced (+3 yrs) in planning, testing and launching software products
- You have a very analytic and visionary mindset that helped you developing lasting software architecture in the past
- You have clear visions and you are good in drafting precise concepts
- You have great communication skills in writing and in person
- You are a friendly person that loves to interact with others
- You can provide strong references from people you led and seniors you worked for
