JOB SUMMARY
Software Engineer/Java Developer will design, develop, document, test, and debug the company's technical products and systems. Performs engineering design evaluations and may develop a range of products. Uses professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve routine problem. Career-Development position within field. Requires moderate skill sets and developing proficiency within discipline. Conducts tasks and assignments as directed. Works under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and maintain software applications as assigned
- Follow development process documents for software creation
- Create design specifications for each component created
- Work with customers and technical support to resolve product issues
- Train others on new technology and products
- Research new technologies
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Valid work experience includes design and coding with modern software development tools and languages such as: Java, SQL Server, Angular, Spring, Ruby, Webdriver, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, etc
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to constructive criticism
- Ability to use objected oriented principles preferred
- Experience with development tools such as IntelliJ, SQL Server Management Studio, Bit Bucket, GIT preferred
- Experience with Oracle and /or Microsoft SQL Server preferred
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) experience preferred Agile Development Methodology (SAFe) experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND PROFICIENCIES
- Bachelor's degree in a computer related discipline (Computer Science, Computer engineering, Information Systems, etc) or equivalent work experience
- 3-5+ years additional experience beyond education
- Conducts tasks and assignments as directed
- Some regulated industry knowledge or experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Operate a computer and work at a desk for extended periods of time
- Communicate effectively in writing, in person, over the telephone and in e-mail
