Job Purpose


1. The Enterprise Identity Solutions & Technology group provides Enterprise portfolio management, best practices and governance, architecture & solution design, development, integration and operational services for enterprise products and services.  The Security Product Engineering team focuses on delivering products and solutions for customer digital identity management and authentication through a variety of delivery channels.


2. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Product Quality Control Analyst provides support to Enterprise Platform Engineering & Architecture teams to translate test cases as requirement for Ops engineering team to continue to automate, will be the owner of Product Quality & test results, ensure product meet customers' product expectations, create quality test results ensuring met customers’ product expectation aligning with Bank's Authentication and Authorization Security Standards. She/He will ensure all applicable test cases are aligned with technical requirements, will execute IST and UAT testing in preparation for production releases and maintain documentation in Confluence and JIRA.


3. The Product Quality Control Analyst, requires extensive knowledge of testing tools as Selenimum and Appium and methods, to create scripts to perform automate testing and NFT in different environments; and familiarity with IT technology and the financial industry. The Product Quality Control Analyst will have demonstrated skills in relationship building and is able to communciate with both technical and non-technical team members.  The incumbant must be good with details that enable our teams to meet the high standards of technology platforms that are customer facing and provide critical functionality for the Bank and its customers. Familiar and adapt to Continuous Integration and Deployment methodology. Worrking knowledge in Identity management on Authentication/Authorization best practises/protocols/standards and open interfaces is an asset. 


4. The incumbent thrives on a fast paced, challenging environment, is proactive and dynamic, calm under pressure, and demonstrates initiative and eagerness to succeed. Occasionally, the Product Quality Control Analyst may need to be on production issue calls or implementation releases in the evenings or weekends.


Key Accountabilities



  • Manage the day to day interaction and deliverables, and ensure the QA Services are delivered effectively and efficiently.

  • Strong Selenium skills for web automation testing.

  • Strong Appium skills for mobile automation testing.

  • Programming background and Unix experience is an asset.

  • Processes strong problem-solving and analytical skills to rapidly assess problem situations and creatively develop alternate solutions.The individuatl is expected to bring solutions to the table.

  • Escalate or closure cases within the Case Management Tool in order to assist the team with excess flows.

  • Develop and qualify new testing methods.

  • Write technical reports or documentation such as deviation reports, testing protocols, and trend analyses

  • Facilitate problem solving on a day-to-day basis as required.

  • Accountable for prioritizing tasks and delivering on all assigned work. Ensure deliverables are in-scope, on-time and of high quality.

  • Partner with Development and Engineer, Architecture and Product Engineers teams to manage the Testing work stream deliverables.

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to build partnerships, create a shared vision and commitment for transformation.

  • Operates independently day to day. 


Functional Competencies



  • Must have 5 years of technical working experience with QA automation (hands on scripting experience).

  • Must have 5 years of technical working experience with QA governance.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication capabilities, demonstrated from both technical and business perspectives.

  • Must have excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, with detailed oriented approach to project testing.

  • Possess technical working knowledge of service visualization tool(s) for QA.

  • Possess technical working knowledge of DevOps, Agile, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of QA methodology, procedures and standards.

  • Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience of common IT organizational technology and processes.

  • Possess well developed leadership ability, as well as coaching and training experiences.

  • Ideally possess demonstrated examples of work around transformation & driving efficiencies.

  • Banking/Financial Services’ working experience would be an asset.

  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic business environment.

  • Self-motivated; work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams;

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Driven and results oriented.

  • Exceptional planning and analytical skills, ability to focus on the critical issues.

  • Familiarity with SQL queries, plus inserting data & making updates in a database is an asset.

  • Familiarity with Scotiabank's various business lines (Insurance, Wealth) and channels (LEAP, SCO is an asset.

  • Fluency (writing and speaking) in Spanish language is an asset.


Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies and/or IT.
