The organization: Application Engineering
The Application Engineering team's mission is to build an amazing product that delights Yotascale’s customers. This work will have a disproportionate impact and will directly influence Yotascale’s success as a company. The team charter is (1) design and implement application features and APIs that enable the most visible aspect of Yotascale’s product;(2) contribute to each step of the product development process, from ideation to implementation to release, including rapidly prototyping, running A/B tests, and pushing code into production; (3) partner with a cross-functional team of designers and product managers to plan, architect, build, and deploy complex user-facing features for Yotascale customers.
Responsibilities
- Proactively work closely with Product Managers and Engineering Teams to develop new features throughout the platform, and maintain and enhance existing functionality.
- Participate in end-to-end architecture reviews and discussions with the broader team, playing an influential role in overall product design
- Build clean, performant APIs to power compelling, usable data visualizations; contribute to their design; and engineer them in Angular and Python
- Own meaningful parts of our service, have a direct impact, grow with the company
- Review developers' code, provide feedback and develop team knowledge
- Set and maintain a high-quality bar in hiring, architecture, application stability and performance, and code hygiene
Requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field and 3+ years of experience in building rich web-based applications
- You have significant experience in one or more languages, including Python and Javascript
- Ability to write high-performance, reusable code for UI components and value code simplicity, performance and details
- Experience with client and server side charting and visualization libraries
- You’ve worked on a large application using React, Angular, Backbone, Bootstrap, or Redux
