About us

Vorstella is an AI platform that automatically manages large scale distributed systems like Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Spark and Kafka for large companies. Founded by ex-DataStax engineers, weve designed some of the largest distributed system deployments in the world and we wanted to make this technology accessible to everyone. You shouldnt need 3 years of experience to feel comfortable running a new system at scale. We take the guesswork out of using new technology and let you focus on building your app

What youll be working on

  • The back-end infrastructure that makes our service possible. Youll work with each of the team leads to drive common best practices, standards and consensus that hold our team together.
  • Ownership of all production and shared infrastructure.
  • Build systems for applications and Docker images, including standards and best practices used across all teams.
  • CI/CD pipeline supporting security scanning, blue-green/canary deployments and automated fallback.
  • Work with each of the teams leads to ensure high site/system reliability.
  • Working with third-party auditors and pen-testers to ensure site/system security.
  • You will also have the opportunity to use your DevOps knowledge and convictions to directly impact the development of a new product aimed at the DevOps space.

Our stack

Our deployment target is Docker and Kubernetes with most deployments being managed by Spinnaker. On the frontend we use React/Redux. Back-end services are written in Kotlin and Go, with the machine learning code written in Python. Our continuous integration system is CircleCI, and we use Github for all our code. Were multi-cloud with deployments currently in Google and AWS.
