Our products live in the cloud on Google’s Cloud Platform. Our Microservices technology stack includes AngularJS on the front end, Java (primarily), Scala, and Go on the application side, and a mix of relational and NoSQL solutions on the back end including MySQL, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Hadoop, and Google’s Cloud Datastore. We handle eye-popping amounts of data and requests using stream processing technologies such as Kafka and Flink.
Responsibilities
- Delivering on system SLAs by implementing necessary best practices
- Monitor systems and take corrective actions per guidelines
- Working with our Security Team to implement various controls and resolve vulnerabilities
- Perform research and POC’s for new software to improve performance and stability
- Automating build processes for Java based microservice development projects
- Managing our Continuous Integration System
- Managing and Improving our Log Analysis systems to ensure optimal search and reporting times
- Help the Director of DevOps accomplish his quarterly goals by helping this person complete tasks for assigned DevOps stories
- Troubleshooting and Supporting our Production and Non-Production Engineering environments and teams
Qualifications | Required
- Must have experience with Cloud IaaS (Focus: GCP, Alt: AWS, Azure)
- 2-4 years experience with Container Orchestration (Focus: Mesos/ Marathon, Alt: kubernetes, or: docker swarm)
- 1-2 years experience with Configuration Management Tooling (Focus: Chef, Alt: Puppet, Ansible, Salt)
- Service Discovery (Server side and client side: Registrator, consul-template, spring cloud consul)
- Hashicorp Products (Consul, Terraform, Packer etc..)
- ELK Stack (distributed logging architectures)
- Distributed System Architectures and Highly Available Architectures
- Experience setting up Service Level Objectives and managing to them
- Understand the differences between Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; peers would describe you as an intelligent, energetic, and hardworking individual
- Excited by a start up culture and open environment
