The research team is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic software developer who is interested in the area of designing and supporting platforms for both research and clinical use. Participation in this project will provide excellent opportunities for the individual to gain technical and design experiences in the
clinical informatics and data science areas. The successful applicant will provide technical assistance to the research team. Responsibilities will include: confirming project requirements by reviewing program objective, input data, and output requirements with supervisor and users; arranging project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; preparing a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic; encoding project requirements by converting work flow information into computer language; confirming program operation by conducting tests; preparing reference for users by writing operating instructions; maintaining historical
records by documenting program development and revisions; maintaining client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential; providing support for software.


Qualifications:
• At minimum, a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or recognized equivalent required
• Three (3) to Five (5) years related work experience
• Experience in Object Oriented Programming (preferably Java)
• Experience in server side application programming 
• Experience in database integration (preferably past work with mySQL)
• Experience in web development and Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture
• Experience in development of APIs (including RESTful API)
• Solid understanding of cloud based application deployment
• Recent related experience in a clinical or health informatics environment or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Strong interest in the clinical environment and health informatics
• Effective organizational, time management and prioritization skills
• Ability to work independently and accurately under stressful conditions
• Ability to work effectively as a team member
• Excellent communication skills in relaying information to both technical and non-technical team members
• Ability to exercise tact and discretion when handling sensitive and/or confidential matters
• Recent experience working within a quality management system (ISO 13485)
and knowledge of medical device software lifecycle will be considered an asset
