What you can expect
Within our Project BASF 4.0 unit, you will be responsible for mobile industrial solutions as part of the global Smart Manufacturing team within the scope of projects, such as Augmented Reality. You will be responsible for the technical design, configuration and administration of our mobile device management platform SOTI MobiControl and for the hardware integrated into this platform and planning the adjacent infrastructure.

  Your responsibility will extend across the entire lifecycle of the technical solution, from technical implementation and quality assurance to operation and ongoing support for industrial mobile solutions within a global Team.

• 
  You will also participate in the conceptual design and ongoing further development and evolution of the industrial mobile solution and its individual components, including by preparing and updating the technical design documents.
  
• 
  
• 
  Your designs and activities will be based on the latest technology in the area of mobile industrial devices and will take relevant IT security standards into account.
  
• 
  
• 
  You will work together with other IT units, internal business partners and representatives of the global user community within product-oriented teams.

• 
  You will provide support during evaluation and selection of suitable hardware and in implementing and documenting corresponding hardware tests.

  You will provide forward-looking and demand-driven solutions in close cooperation with the relevant internal business partners.

  One of the most important requirements for technological developments in cooperation with the relevant units at BASF is IT security.

What we expect

• 
  
• You have a degree or have completed a comparable education in the field of computer science and have acquired several years of professional experience in an IT environment.
• 
  
• You have experience with SOTI MobiControl and general experience in the areas of mobile device management (MDM), mobile application management (MAM) and enterprise mobility management (EMM).
• 
  
• You have in-depth know-how in the Android operating systems and ideally also with Windows Mobile and Windows CE with the relevant forms and particularities for mobile industrial applications.
• 
  
• In addition, you have good knowledge and skills in the area of automatic identification and data capture (Auto-ID), especially in the field of mobile data capture using 1D/2D barcodes and RFID technologies.
• 
  
• You have experience with working according to existing ITIL processes (incident management and change management).
• 
  
• You also have knowledge and skills regarding network technology (LAN, WLAN, WAN and VPN), including infrastructure, structure, encryption and authentication in this regard.
