We are seeking a Robotics Systems Software Manager to join an exciting new program that sits at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and agriculture. Specific Responsibilities:
- Leadership: We are looking for an experienced manager to help recruit, retain and lead a team of software developers on a brand new embedded project. In the beginning this will be a player / coach role and transition to pure management as the team grows.
- Key areas include: Managing the software development process; delivering well-tested, high-performance code
- Comfortable in setting tough but achievable goals that push the team and the company forward
- Create a work environment that fosters transparency, high performance, innovation, and diversity
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team
- Execution: Responsible for executing on development plans and delivering solid software to address infrastructure needs and new features
- Identify potential risks, assess their impact, and develop and implement mitigation and resolution plans and activities
- Create plans and schedules, track progress and provide updates to senior management
- Coordination: Work closely with Product Management to develop and bring to market products that exceed customer expectations
- Facilitate the information flow between team members and senior management
- Excellent brainstorming, creative thinking, mathematical analysis, and communication skills
- Hiring and retention: Help determine project needs and work with recruiters to bring in and retain top talent
