Global alternative asset manager is seeking a Web Developer to join the Application Development team which is focused on providing world class software and automation solutions to multiple business units across the firm. 


ABOUT THE ROLE
==============


We are looking for a web developer with experience in Angular, Typescript, CSS and Bootstrap. Prior experience with integrating third-party libraries such as DevExtreme or Kendo UI, or a proven capability to write your own high-powered grids and visualizations is preferred. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your web development skills as you will be building the next generation of MKP’s core risk valuation systems that are crucial to our business. Understanding technologies for building UI that can handle real-time data feeds, and large volumes of data is critical. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience and a proven track record of creating high-quality web applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
===============



  • Wiring up existing micro-services to a front-end (REST and web sockets).

  • Engineer solutions that enable Portfolio Managers and decision makers get key insights from in-house and outsourced analytics in real time.

  • Write scalable web applications that can handle multiple active data streams that are tested, idiomatic, and documented using TypeScript, HTML and CSS.

  • Develop web interfaces using adaptive and responsive design patterns. 

  • Deliver an ongoing feature-set within a complete web application.

  • Coordinate back-end development in the process of building the RESTful API.

  • Communicate with external web services.

  • Provide post implementation support to new and existing applications.

  • Continuously expand industry and technical knowledge, establishing and promoting UI design guidelines, best practices and standards.


QUALIFICATIONS
==============



  • 2-3 years’ web development experience.

  • Experience creating modular applications using Angular 4/5. Experience with client side MVC frameworks and template libraries, Angular, React, Ember, etc. 

  • Experience in developing interactive user interface design/layouts and debugging/performance profiling web applications.

  • Experience handling large volumes of data (in the order of MB’s) efficiently. 

  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms as they relate to UI development.



Preference will be given to candidates whose skillset and experience best align with below:



  • Typescript, CSS (including FlexBox) – 2-3 years or more.

  • Jenkins build configuration management – 2 years or more.

  • Ngrx/Store – 2 years or more.

  • Nginx – 2 years or more.

  • Npm, git, angular-cli – 2 years or more.


EDUCATION


==============



  • Bachelor’s or higher level degree in Computer Science.


Nice to have:



  • TDD mentality.

  • Knowledge of UX core concepts.

  • Python, C# programming experience.

  • Experience with Redux or MobX/store patterns.

  • Third party library experience: Ag-Grid, prototype.js, d3, Highcharts.

  • Docker and Kubernetes experience.

  • Agile experience.

  • Experience with Git source control.

  • Financial Industry experience.
