  • Prototype and wireframe user interfaces for exploring and manipulating data visualizations, primarily in desktop/web context

  • Create visual assets and cross-application style guides

  • Gather and distill feedback from end users, primarily scientific researchers

  • Work closely with the development team to determine feasibility and scope of new features

Required Skills and Background

  • 5+ years designing digital user interfaces and experiences

  • Experience producing visualizations of complex data

  • Ability to prototype user interfaces using Invision, Sketch, Illustrator, or your tool of choice

  • Portfolio of past design work

Desired Skills and Background

  • Experience coding visualizations with D3.js, SVG, or other tools a plus.

  • Experience conducting user interviews or formal user experience research desired.

  • Background in biology and DNA sequencing is not required, but a proven ability to distill and communicate complex concepts will go a long way.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or on the basis of disability.
