Staff Software Engineer (Front End)
San Francisco, CA
Sony Network Entertainment is looking for a staff level engineer to join our established, high performance team in the SoMa district of downtown San Francisco. This group applies web technologies to the core user experience on the PlayStation 4, which millions of customers around the world interact with daily. The ideal candidate will come from an object-oriented development background and be enthusiastic about front end web technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, 4+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
- A minimum of 6-8 years of Software Development experience
- Proficient in JavaScript, HTML5 / CSS3, Node.js
- Experience with React native frameworks
- Experience performance tuning in CPU & memory constrained environments
- Ability to architect large software applications
- Ability to formally communicate software architecture & technical issues
- Passion for gaming, encyclopedic knowledge of games
Preferred Qualifications:
- Passion for test driven (TDD) or behavior driven (BDD) development
- Experience leading teams
- Game development experience
- C/C++
- C#/Python
- RESTful API’s
